Throughout this internship, the candidate will be immersed in a professional manufacturing organization, experiencing every phase of production, warehousing, product testing, safety, and engineering.
Businessobjectives:
- Improve first pass yield and reduce scrap at various test points throughout the factory.
- Reduce diagnostic and repair time for faulty products.
Working with the Robotics/Automation Engineer, the intern will be given numerous projects to design, develop and integrate robots and/or other automation equipment into the factory's existing and new production lines. This may include 6-axis robots, Vision Systems, and AI.
Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing Engineering team, evaluate solutions for a robotic soldering application including feasibility, sourcing, validation, and qualification.
To understand the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 as it pertains to relevant supply chain and operations personnel. To understand the day-to-day data needs of these personnel. To utilize D365’s custom forms and reports to create unique dashboards for each user. To incorporate the use of PowerBI to further enhance data visualization and decision making.
The intern will support efforts to improve inventory data accuracy and streamline SKU maintenance processes through cross-functional collaboration with procurement and planning. This role involves analyzing inventory data, developing tools to enhance communication and efficiency, and contributing to material reporting and visualization using Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Understand true process efficiencies and create meaningful, accurate, and easy to use reports for Daily Gemba tracking. To learn and understand actual product cycle times, compare those to known product routing times, and develop a functional, sophisticated, yet easy-to-use and understand daily report for use at daily GEMBA presentations.
Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing engineering team, evaluate bills of materials and assembly routing structures to assist in preparing for migration to a new ERP system.
Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing Engineering team, deploy a fully automated assembly work station involving robotics.
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be exposed to a broad range of assembly processes. The intern will be mentored by an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.
