Overview

Hayward Holdings Inc. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is fully onsite, based in Clemmons, NC.

 

Supervise all aspects of the blow molding department in such a manner that safety, quality and productivity are maximized. Responsible work cells include BM18, BM19, BM20, LAT01, SF002, and Valve Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all direct and indirect personnel assigned to the responsible cells (Coordinators, operators, material handlers, process and setup technicians, etc.) Make assignments and prioritize the tasks needed to reach department and company goals.
  • Ensures that all personnel wear the required PPE and follow all safety rules in the area
  • Train all personnel relative to standard work, ensure compliance with the work procedures, and that work cells are meeting required takt time.
  • Establish staffing levels required to meet production demands.
  • Make hiring recommendations and work with the Human Resource department to meet personnel needs.
  • Conduct disciplinary action when necessary and perform job performance and counseling reviews for all responsible personnel. Make recommendations for wage changes.
  • Work with the Planning Department scheduler regarding the order sequence for the production lines before the start of each shift.
  • Make package and serial labels for each production order.
  • Interface with Maintenance, Quality, Planning and Engineering Departments on production problems and scheduling requirements.
  • Assist in labor and expense budget process. Provide staffing needs and maintain adequate supply inventories to support production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain good working relations with management, peers and all others which must interact with the department.
  • Insure superior 5S standards are met daily.
  • Participate in Kaizen projects and Continuous Improvement programs as needed to advance departmental and company goals.
  • Understand and adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sand Filter Manufacturing Unit Manager or other member of management.

Qualifications

  • Computer skills are necessary including use of MS-Office software, ERP systems (AS400 or D365), MES software, email using Outlook, and other software necessary to complete the required tasks.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
  • Good attendance record is a must.

 

Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree in business, industrial technology or related field desired; bachelor’s degree preferred. Desired minimum three years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on leadership abilities, personnel directives, computer applications and continuous improvement processes. Appropriate experience may supersede education requirement.

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; smell. The employee will infrequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Earplugs must be worn while in the Blow Molding department. Safety glasses and steel toed shoes are required while on the plant floor.
