Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Nashville, TN.

 

As a Quality Engineer, you will support the Plant Quality Manager in ensuring product quality, collaborating across teams to
drive continuous improvement and solve technical challenges. This role offers opportunities for growth, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Support quality planning and implement inspection methods for new and existing products.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop solutions for product issues.
  • Analyze and document data to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, including 5S and Kaizen.
  • Act as a backup for the Quality Manager when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3-10+ years of quality experience.
  • Proficiency in SPC, data analysis, and blueprint reading (GD&T).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools like Minitab.

Desired:

  • ASQ certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Shainin Red X certification is preferred but not
    required.
  • Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or gas heating is a plus.

Language Skills:

Read and interpret technical information and procedure manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions in English. Write routine reports and correspondence in English. Verballycommunicate in English.

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficient in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Understand and be able to make conversions between different units of measurement (inches to centimeters, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in use of SPC. Apply these concepts to practical situations.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Excel or other data analysis software (Minitab, etc.).

Blueprint Reading:

  • Able to read and use blueprints.
  • Understand and use standard geometric dimensioning & tolerancing terminology and symbology.

Computer skills:

  • Competent in personal computer operations. Proficient in use of word processing and spreadsheet software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to learn new applications as required.
  • Familiar with data analysis software (Minitab, etc.).

There is a high level of activity associated with this position and the work environment is fast-paced and demanding at times. The position may require night and/or weekend work.
