Hayward Pool Products Canada Inc. is a leading manufacturer of swimming pool equipment. For over 90 years, we have been helping pool owners enjoy the pleasures of pool ownership by manufacturing cutting edge, technologically advanced pool equipment worldwide.  As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a District Technical Sales Manager in Eastern Ontario and Atlantic Canada.  

 

The DTSM is responsible for developing and managing present and new customers and driving sales activities for Hayward in a specific geographical area.  This position will also involve working with key pool builders, dealers, and distributors with technical support on all questions regarding Hayward products in order to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.  Having knowledge of swimming pool equipment & the ability to troubleshoot technical product issues is necessary to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on distributors, dealers, builders, OEM's and prospective customers to obtain new business and expand existing business.
  • Serve as a real-time escalation point for situations involving technical questions for customers
  • Create and perform in-class & on-site training seminars for our customers
  • Provide technical assistance on all product lines to support our customers
  • Advises dealers and distributors about sales and advertising techniques.
  • Analyzes market trends and sales data to assist dealers in sales promotions for present and future business.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and explains features and attributes and advantages over competition.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer requirements, volume potential, competitive pricing.
  • Develops sales campaigns to achieve goals of company.
  • Represents Company at trade shows and association meetings to promote product.
  • Occasionally operates & staffs a large mobile training vehicle to support product training / sales events.
  • Controls expenditures of personal geographic district to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Provides input and implements annual sales plan for the territory, including sales strategy, to maximize return from the territory's assigned accounts/geographic area and to meet the territory's sales quotas established by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive list and profile of key accounts / market contacts and tracks field activities in a Salesforce database.
  • Prepares monthly progress reports, monthly itinerary, weekly call reports and weekly expense reports in a timely manner and submits to Regional Sales Manager.

Qualifications

  • A sustained level of sales achievement selling a range of products of a technical nature. 
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential. 
  • Experience using a computer and Microsoft programs 
  • Familiarity with automated control systems, basic electricity, plumbing hydraulics and/or water chemistry is a plus. 
  • Must also possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive long distances and travel by plane.
