Overview

Performs welding and metal fabrication tasks, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to project specifications. Reads and interprets blueprints, sets up and operates welding equipment, and inspects completed work for quality and compliance. Maintains safety standards, performs equipment maintenance, and collaborates with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding methods (MIG, TIG, stick, etc.).
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions according to specifications.
  • Inspect and test welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with quality standards.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including grinders, torches, and cutting equipment.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or construction setting.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • AWS (American Welding Society) certification.
  • Experience with CNC plasma cutting or robotic welding systems.
