Overview

The Distribution Coordinator is a hands-on, dynamic role responsible for coordinating the daily operations functions in the distribution customer care center – receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, and shipping to execute the day-to-day functions for fulling customer orders. This role supports daily operations and leadership, backs up front line leadership as needed, and oversees the efficient collaboration between operations and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. They work closely with various departments to highlight technical issues, and coordinates/implements process improvements and system improvement recommendations. This role is critical for optimizing daily operations and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safety first, collaborative environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
  • Serve as one point of contact for distribution staff regarding daily operational and ERP issues.
  • Coordinate updates and facilitate communication between departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Support the daily operation, stability, and integrity of the ERP system within the distribution environment.
  • Utilizes data driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. 
  • Provide ongoing user training and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and/or process issues, coordinating with IT teams for complex technical problems.
  • Identify gaps and translate those needs into actionable recommendations/plans for the technical teams.
  • Participate in testing (User Acceptance Testing), and provide critical feedback to the project team, essentially evaluating the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed changes from an end-user perspective.
  • Recommend work practices standards/instructions/metrics to improve overall performance, ensure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, maximize productivity, and promote efficient material flow and utilization.
  • Support and administration of company policies and procedures. 
  • Must be available to work off shifts during system integration or as needed. 

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision.
• Experience leading small teams (5-15) in a distribution/warehouse environment – 3+ years
• WMS/ERP implementation and proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) a plus
• Demonstrated organization skills, good time management skills, strong analytical and data driven problem solving skills.
• Experience in collaborating across multiple departments.
• Familiar with and proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides, etc.)

Education, Experience, Licenses/Certificate / and skills to perform the job:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit/stand/walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  

 

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally in an office setting
