Hayward Holdings Inc. This position is fully onsite, based in Clemmons, NC.
The Position oversees Hayward’s Sand Filter Business Unit, ensuring optimal performance by driving daily results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Manage and supervise all employees in the Sand Filter Business Unit, including interviewing, hiring, and training.
Enable talent development and manage succession planning.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
Partner with Human Resources to provide disciplinary action when necessary.
Prepare and manage department capital and expense budgets, including Direct and Indirect Labor as well as supplies and materials. Monitor spending and enforce cost control discipline.
Establish staffing levels necessary to meet customer demand.
Conduct Behavioral Based Safety Audits to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaborate with external and internal vendors to secure supplies and materials, and maintain desired component inventory levels.
Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to support operations.
Write specifications and design requirements for blow molding machinery, finishing equipment, auxiliary support systems, and other capital needs. Evaluate options, obtain quotations, and recommend innovative technology solutions.
Design head tooling and finishing equipment fixtures for blow molded components; determine head tooling sizes for production.
Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR), including justification and ROI calculations, to support equipment and operational improvements.
Establish, maintain, and continuously improve cycle times and quality standards for injection and blow molded components. Notify support departments when deviations occur.
Maintain process parameters and setup documentation for the Sand Filter Business Unit.
Define departmental training requirements for equipment, processing techniques, MES (HydraX), Key Component Scanning, and Microsoft D365.
Monitor resin and color concentrate usage; implement corrective action when needed.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities; set and track continuous improvement goals for the department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
Strong knowledge of blow molding, injection molding, and polymer processing.
Proficient in spreadsheets, word processing, and CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and lean manufacturing methods highly desirable.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, blueprints, and manuals. Skilled in preparing reports and presenting to employees or management.
Strong mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and graph interpretation.
Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities in complex situations.
Education and Experience:
BS degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Plastics) or business/technology-related field, plus 7+ years of related experience; or equivalent education/experience combination.
ERP experience with AS400, Microsoft D365, or similar systems required.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and communicate effectively.
Occasionally required to sit and climb.
Frequently lift and move cartons up to 25 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
Frequent work near moving mechanical parts and hydraulic presses; strict adherence to safety procedures required.
Exposure to fumes and airborne particles possible.
Noise levels range from low in offices to loud in production areas.
Eye and ear protection required on the plant floor.
