Position Overview
This role reports to the National Sales Manager and covers the Midwest territory. Candidates must reside in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, or Indiana. The Commercial Sales Manager travels throughout the assigned territory to call on distributors, dealers, commercial builders, OEMs, and prospective customers to obtain new business and expand existing business.

Responsibilities

  • Perform formal presentations to commercial engineering firms and work to have Hayward products specified in new commercial pool designs.

  • Proactively prospect new opportunities outside of Hayward’s core commercial business.

  • Advise dealers and distributors on sales and advertising strategies.

  • Analyze market trends and sales data to support dealers with promotions and growth strategies.

  • Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalogs, explaining competitive advantages.

  • Review market analyses to determine customer requirements, volume potential, and pricing strategies.

  • Develop sales campaigns for the territory to support company growth goals.

  • Represent Hayward at trade shows and association meetings to promote products.

  • Coordinate between sales, customer service, technical service, engineering, and other departments as appropriate.

  • Manage expenditures for the territory in line with budgetary requirements.

  • Provide input on and implement the annual sales plan, including sales strategy, to maximize return from accounts and achieve quotas.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of key accounts and contacts in CRM (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Prepare timely progress reports, itineraries, call reports, and expense reports.

  • May assist with training of sales trainees, sales representatives, and territory sales managers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the National Sales Manager.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Minimum of five years of related sales experience with a track record of sustained achievement.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of commercial swimming pool equipment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of electronic chlorine generation, and solar, gas, and electric heaters a plus.

  • Familiarity with automated control systems, basic electricity, plumbing, hydraulics, and/or water chemistry a plus.
