As a PCBA Manufacturing Engineer you will provide Manufacturing Engineering guidance and support for SMT, PCB assembly and Conformal Coat on new and legacy Hayward electronic products.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager by performing the assigned Manufacturing Engineering tasks required for the PCBA manufacturing operation to enhance productivity, quality, and safety effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, and Quality teams in readiness preparation for daily production Gemba meetings.
  • Participate in projects to identify and implement continuous yield and process improvements, leading to cost effective, high quality, high yield, and world class manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support execution of capital expense projects for new technology and equipment required for the manufacturing operation of existing and new PCBA products.
  • Work cross functionally with design engineering, test engineering, and change management to maintain product quality throughout New Product Introduction through the product life cycle.
  • Understand, calculate, and maintain routing time accuracy for new and existing products.
  • Develop processes for New Product Introduction and execute to maintain project management timelines.
  • Implement and manage real time SPC and utilize Six Sigma tools.
  • Responsible for managing multiple products consecutively
  • Advise and guide PCBA technicians on day-to-day tasks
  • Always work safely and support a safe working environment for all others in the plant.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with PC based Word, Excel, MS Project, Access, PowerPoint and CAD software
  • Experience with printed circuit board assembly equipment, methods, and processes such as stencil selection and printing, SMT component placement insertion, reflow, wave and selective soldering, manual and automatic optical inspection, conformal coating, and curing.
  • Familiarity with advanced packaging and processing strategies for system in a package device (SIP) incorporating high layer count laminate (PCB) and ceramic substrates, ferrites, flip chips, BGA’s, lead-free soldering, MSL, high current interconnects a plus.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team to solve problems through collaboration and consensus.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering. Master’s degree and/or MBA is a plus.
  • 2-5 years Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience with an electronics manufacturer required.
