This internship is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in engineering, business analytics, and operational efficiency to apply their skills in data visualization, process tracking, and reporting.

What You’ll Do:

As a Efficiency Tracking Intern, you’ll work with manufacturing teams, operators, and management to analyze process efficiencies and develop a sophisticated yet easy-to-use efficiency tracking system for daily GEMBA walks. You’ll gain hands-on experience in data analytics, cycle time analysis, and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Your Responsibilities:

✅ Data Analysis & Process Efficiency:

• Review existing daily efficiency reports to understand what works and what needs improvement.
• Compare actual product cycle times with routing times to identify discrepancies.
• Create a master reference database for efficiency tracking.

✅ Report Development & Visualization:

• Design a user-friendly report in Excel or Power BI that operators can easily use.
• Ensure the report includes automated inputs, calculations, and updates to reduce manual work.
• Develop visual indicators that allow managers to quickly assess work cell performance.
• Work closely with plant floor operators to ensure the report is practical and effective.

✅ Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:

• Participate in daily GEMBA walks to observe manufacturing operations.
• Gather feedback from operators and leadership to refine reporting tools.
• Apply Kaizen principles to improve efficiency tracking and decision-making.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
✔ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
✔ ERP/MRP system experience is a plus.
✔ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
✔ Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves standing, walking, and interacting with plant floor operators in a manufacturing setting. You may need to lift up to 50 lbs. (using proper lifting techniques) and work with detailed visual reports.
