This internship provides an exciting opportunity to apply Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and efficiency improvement techniques to real production challenges.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As a Mechanical Industrial Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to analyze bottlenecks, optimize workflow, and improve production efficiency. You'll gain hands-on experience in time studies, process improvement, and cost reduction initiatives while working in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Your Responsibilities:

✅ Process Improvement & Efficiency Optimization:

  • Conduct time studies to evaluate production bottlenecks and identify inefficiencies.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Engineering team to analyze and improve production assembly processes, equipment layouts, and workflow.
  • Reduce downtime and waste by applying Lean Manufacturing and 8 Wastes reduction techniques.
  • Balance production lines and streamline activities to increase output and reduce costs.

✅ Technical Skill Development:

  • Learn how to calculate and improve production efficiencies.
  • Gain experience working with an ERP system for manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with interns from Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Develop troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for real-world problem-solving.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
✔ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SolidWorks.
✔ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
✔ Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
✔ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
