This internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in robotics integration, automation development, and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As a Robotics & Automation Intern, you’ll collaborate with our Robotics/Automation Engineer to design, develop, and integrate robotic systems and automated equipment into new and existing production lines. You’ll gain practical experience with robot programming, automation technologies, and industrial networking.

Your Responsibilities:

Robotic & Automation Systems Development:

  • Assist in the design, programming, and integration of stationary robots, mobile robots, optical inspection systems, and laser engraving equipment.
  • Support the procurement and installation of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with manufacturing, test, and design engineering teams to develop safe, ergonomic, and reliable robotic solutions.

Research & Documentation:

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies for new automation projects.
  • Create proposals and justifications for automation investments.
  • Develop user guides, operating instructions, and repair manuals for automated systems.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Assist in maintaining, repairing, and modifying existing automated production equipment.
  • Work with PLCs and microprocessor-based controllers to ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
✔ Knowledge of network communications and various communication protocols (including Wi-Fi).
✔ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
✔ Hands-on mechanical skills and familiarity with power tools.
✔ Experience with Linux and Python programming.
✔ Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation and robotics.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves standing, walking, and working with hands-on robotics equipment. You may need to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity.
