As a District Sales Manager and key driver of growth for Hayward Flow Control, you’ll thrive on creating new opportunities, building relationships, and generating demand across an assigned territory. Ideal for a sales “hunter,” this role involves developing new customer accounts, maintaining a loyal customer base, and expanding our influence across engineering firms, OEMs, mechanical contractors, and distributor partners. Success in this role means strategically expanding market share while supporting our partners with industry-leading solutions and service.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Pursue New Business Opportunities: Actively identify and cultivate key engineering accounts, focusing on specification conversions, new partnerships, and opportunities to increase brand presence.
  • Strategic Territory Planning: Build and execute a business strategy that targets diverse customer segments, ensuring a high impact on demand generation across your territory.
  • Customer-Centric Sales Growth: Build long-term relationships with engineering firms, OEMs, owners, and mechanical contractors, maintaining consistent engagement and achieving quarterly and yearly growth targets.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Use sales data and market analysis to understand customer needs, set pricing strategies, and create tailored sales campaigns to meet company goals.
  • Relationship Management: Address client needs with care and efficiency, onboard new accounts, and deliver pricing quotes, ensuring weekly visits to drive retention and satisfaction.
  • On-the-Ground Sales Engagement: Conduct regular sales activities with engineering firms, distributor partners, OEMs, and end-users, expanding both new and existing opportunities.
  • SalesForce Mastery: Track and report activities to drive visibility and insights across sales efforts.
  • Distributor Development: Manage distributor partnerships by setting ambitious goals, offering product training, and increasing brand awareness.
  • Industry Presence: Represent Hayward Flow Control at tradeshows and industry events, broadening network and capturing emerging opportunities.
  • Competitive Insight: Keep a close watch on competitor activity and market changes to adapt and strengthen your approach.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Sales Hunter Mindset: 5+ years of outside sales experience, with a proven record of building new business, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors (municipal, water treatment, aquatics, mining, or pipe, valve, and fittings).
  • Relationship-Builder: Ability to forge long-term relationships across diverse audiences, including engineers, contractors, owners, and distributors.
  • Goal-Oriented: Experience managing sales budgets and hitting monthly targets, with a drive to exceed goals.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities, above-average mechanical aptitude, and effective communication skills.
  • Self-Starter & Team Player: Can work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, growth-oriented team.
  • Travel Ready: Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel 50%–70%.
