We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Global Communications to shape and lead our global communication strategy, champion our brand, and guide our narrative to resonate in diverse markets worldwide. 

The Senior Director of Global Communications will lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of global communication initiatives, encompassing internal, external, crisis, and digital channels. This role is pivotal in aligning Hayward’s messaging with our corporate vision and values, ensuring consistency across regional markets, and enhancing our reputation as a transparent, values-driven organization. This position will work closely with senior leaders, legal, investor relations, and marketing teams to foster a culture of transparency, authenticity, and engagement. 

Responsibilities

Global Communication Strategy Development 

  • Design and implement an overarching global communication strategy that aligns with Hayward’s corporate vision, bolsters our brand reputation, and supports key business objectives. Ensure strategic cohesion across internal and external communication channels. 

Crisis Communication Leadership 

  • Lead crisis communication initiatives, developing proactive planning, response, and recovery strategies to protect Hayward’s reputation. Partner with senior leadership to establish crisis protocols and ensure timely, transparent communication during critical events. 

Digital and Social Media Strategy 

  • Direct Hayward’s global digital and social media strategy to ensure cohesive and responsive online engagement. Develop data-driven digital communication initiatives that enhance brand visibility, engage target audiences, and strengthen Hayward’s reputation on digital platforms. 

Employee Engagement and Change Communication 

  • Strengthen internal communication to support organizational transformation, corporate restructuring, and cultural shifts. Collaborate with HR and executive teams to design change management communication initiatives that reinforce openness, inclusivity, and engagement. 

Leadership in ESG and Employee Value Proposition (EVP) 

  • Champion the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and EVP strategies by collaborating with executives to craft compelling narratives that reflect Hayward’s mission and values. Drive communication initiatives that embed our commitment to ESG and employee engagement. 

Authentic Leadership Communication 

  • Equip leaders at all levels with the tools and guidance needed to communicate authentically and consistently. Provide coaching and resources to support values-driven communication aligned with Hayward’s brand and cultural vision. 

Stakeholder and Investor Relations Support 

  • Partner with Investor Relations as needed to ensure alignment and consistency in communication with shareholders and the broader financial community, supporting corporate reputation in financial and investor-related messaging. 

Global Market Adaptation and Cultural Sensitivity 

  • Adapt communication strategies to reflect diverse regional and cultural contexts. Ensure global messaging aligns with local market dynamics and resonates with audiences worldwide, fostering a unified yet culturally aware communication approach. 

Advanced Communication Technology and Analytics 

  • Leverage advanced communication tools and analytics to measure impact and refine strategies. Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership, offering regular performance metrics and recommendations for continuous improvement. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 12+ years of experience in global communications, public relations, or corporate communications, with a successful track record in senior leadership roles. 
  • Expertise in crisis communication, digital and social media strategy, and change management communication. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, impactful narratives. 
  • Proven experience in leading ESG and EVP initiatives that reflect company values and enhance corporate culture. 
  • Proficiency in communication technology and analytics tools to monitor and optimize communication effectiveness. 
  • Global perspective with a strong understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt messaging across regional markets.
