Overview

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for front line trouble call support to multiple high volume assembly lines and sheet metal fabrication equipment. Technicians will also perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant manufacturing equipment and the facility. Duties include troubleshooting automated assembly and test equipment, pipe fitting welding; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new machinery. Applies advanced technical skills in area of specialization. May adapt procedures and techniques necessary to assemble natural gas fired pool heaters and electric heat pumps. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions and problems, refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Expected to assist with problem solutions and training. Applicants need to be highly motivated and self-directed working with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of building does not deteriorate.
  • Technicians are required to respond to multiple line calls identifying and repairing assembly and fabrication equipment to maintain production rates. Repairs are required on automated conveyor lines, robotic fastening and packaging cells (Yaskawa), CNC controlled punching and bending equipment (LVD), die repair and maintenance, PLC and Vision Systems.
  • Inspect AC frequency drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devises.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, reference blueprints, equipment manuals, engineering drawings, and communication with OEM manufacturer for support as necessary.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
  • Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.
  • Operate cutting torches or MIG/TIG welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Knowledgeable of hydraulics and pneumatics assembly, PLC controller equipment, sensor, vision systems, frequency drives and motor controls.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • 1st shift hours are 5:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Overtime as scheduled; will include weekends.
  • Salary Range up to $39/hour based on qualifications and experience. Quarterly Bonus Plan and $1,000 New Hire Bonus.

Education

Associate degree (two-year college and/or technical school) preferred and/or equivalent work experience.

Experience

3 to 5 years related manufacturing maintenance experience. 3 to 5 years electrical experience preferred.

Computer Skills

PLC experience, knowledgeable in programming controllers.

Certificates & Licenses

Specific licenses required, electrical safe practices or Arc Flash Certificate, mechanical, valid TN driver's license, ability to pass Hayward's forklift certification.
