Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.  This is based out of Clemmons, NC. 

 

As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist at Hayward, you along with the Sr Payroll Manager will be responsible for full-cycle processing of US and Canada bi-weekly payrolls as well as US Weekly Payrolls. This includes collecting, compiling, and entering data in the Workday Payroll system.  You will also work closely with the Benefits Manager on reconciling and processing vendor invoices, 401k funding, Canadian Pension funding and Canadian Benefits reconciliation.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do?

  • Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using Workday software and ensure information is processed accurately and timely.
  • Process US and Canadian payrolls by established deadlines.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and errors by investigating, collecting, and analyzing information.
  • Upload Garnishments received daily to vendor.
  • Reconcile Quarterly tax filings.
  • Assist Sr Payroll manager with new state registrations for State Income tax and Unemployment.
  • Assist Sr Payroll manager in resolution for Federal and State Tax notices.
  • Year-end Processing (W-2, W2c processing)
  • Monitor and track all Quarterly tax amendments and receipt of funds.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Recommend new processes to improve performance and efficiency within the payroll function.
  • Reconcile and process Benefit invoices and perform audit as needed.
  • Assist with Annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Assist with Employee Benefits questions and escalations.
  • Reconcile and fund US retirement plans and Canadian Pension plans as well as HSA/FSA and DCA plans
  • Monitor Canada benefits invoices for changes in employee deductions.
  • Assist with other day-to-day task as assigned by Benefit’s Manager
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience with in-house full cycle payroll processing.  Workday experience is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll taxation including local taxes
  • Experience evaluating, analyzing, and resolving unique and complex problems, and recommending solutions.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state and federal payroll, tax and employment laws.
  • Canada Payroll knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Benefits experience is a plus.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Dedicated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude with a focus on providing awesome internal customer service.
  • Great time management and organization skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who likes working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
