Overview

Hayward Holdings Inc. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.  This position is based in Nashville, TN.  

 

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in the plant. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and work standards. Defines "best practice" for the shop floor. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs manufacturing layout of equipment and workplace for maximum efficiency, safety, and ergonomic condition. Uses “Lean” manufacturing processes and is available for Kaizen events as needed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and standards by studying product requirements, researching, and designing, modifying, and testing.
  • Analyzes, improves and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product and tooling to ensure efficient production methods that support design-for-automation.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by using the manufacturer’s instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Contributes to cross-functional team effort.
  • Participates with internal groups including Product Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Productions, Accounting and Operations.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures within OSHA guidelines.                                                      
  • Should be able to apply all concepts from a four-year Engineering/Engineering Technology Program.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, engineers, vendors and assembly line Supervisors and workers. 

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree from a four-year college or university, in Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years related manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in the areas of sheet metal, heat exchanger, or assembly manufacturing.
  • Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Lotus 1-2-3, AS/400, CAD, and proficiency with MRP/SPC desired.
