Manufacturing Engineer- Intern

Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.  This position is based ­in Clemmons, NC.

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be exposed to a broad range of assembly processes.  The intern will be mentored by an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.

YOUR Goals and Learning Experiences: Throughout this internship, the candidate will be immersed in a manufacturing organization, experiencing every operation. The intern experience will include but is not limited to:

• Injection Molding
• Blow Molding
• Assembly
• Robotic value add activities
• Solid modeling
• 3D printing

• Create process diagrams and standard work for assembly operations
• Design jigs/fixtures as needed for assembly of parts
• Specify equipment for assembly of complex finished goods
• Audit BOM and routings for accuracy in ERP software

• Pursuing BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
• Passionate about manufacturing processes
• Ability to complete individual assignments as well work as in a team environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Must have transportation to and from the internship
