POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The E-commerce Channel Manager will focus on driving growth for the Hayward Flow Control e-commerce business unit and will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Hayward Flow Control presence across multiple e-commerce channels. The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, digital marketing, and data analytics. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a proven track record of driving revenue growth through effective channel management.  

 

This person will lead the development of high-performance category management strategies to support our customers in growing the overall industrial product rangeWill be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to provide customer-level insights that enable the development of a strong innovation pipeline and influence category-related decisions. Will be a subject matter expert for e-commerce market trends, leveraging all available tools to drive an understanding of the changing competitive landscape, consumer targets, and promotional opportunities. 

Responsibilities

Channel Operations & Management 

Channel & Content Management: Oversee the creation of product listings, website uploads, and landing page development. Oversee the day-to-day operations of various e-commerce channels and marketplaces.  

Operational Excellence: Manage all online activities related to traffic acquisition, sales, conversion, A/B testing, and apply updates to the platform to attract and retain customers.  

Content and Review Management: Upload content for product listings provided by marketing and manage product reviews to maintain a positive brand image.  

Take proactive measures to manage account pricing and inventory, ensuring competitive pricing for customers and accurate category management, including rebates and co-op programs. 

 

Strategy & Research 

E-Commerce Strategies: Implement strategies to enhance website performance and speed, especially on mobile, and evaluate website design for improvements.  

Market Research and Compliance: Initiate market research studies and evaluate legal disclaimers and website content for compliance, accuracy, and brand alignment.  

Competitive Analysis: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in e-commerce. Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the marketplace. 

 

Data Analyst  

Account Health and Performance: Collaborate with our key Industry Online Accounts to enhance account health, troubleshoot issues, improve performance and optimize the customer service experience. Conduct audits and optimize product listings on the various key industry online account platforms to improve visibility and sales.  

Performance Reporting: Create regular performance analysis and reporting on key metrics such as sales, usage, conversion and ROI, focusing on insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.  

Sales and Conversion Optimization: Analyze sales data and web analytics to optimize sales and improve conversion rates. Oversee product listing creation, website uploads, and landing page development.  

 

Marketing 

Digital Marketing: Support the marketing manager in developing and executing digital marketing campaigns, including paid advertising, email marketing, and social media promotions to drive traffic and sales on e-commerce channels.   

 

Collaboration 

Cross-functional Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, engineering and customer service, to align channel strategies with overall business objectives 

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications 

SEO Strategy & Optimization: Experience developing SEO strategies to improve online visibility and rankings. Proficient in keyword research, trend analysis, and website content optimization. 

Content Collaboration: Ability to work with copywriters and marketing teams to produce compelling, SEO-friendly content. Familiarity with optimizing content for brand consistency and user experience. 

Digital Marketing: Skilled in crafting clear, concise, and engaging communications and promotional materials. 

Qualifications

Education and Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing or related field from a four-year college or university. 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on ecommerce experience for a fast-paced brand or retailer.  
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms such as Amazon Vendor Central is a plus.  
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel). 
  • Must have highly developed analytical skills to be able to read and synthesize market and business data.  
  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and tactics is a plus.  
  • PIM experience is required. Experience with Akeneo and Magento is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques preferred.
