The Engineering Controls & Automation Intern willbe immersed into controls and use of operating software, identification of automation options to reduce labor reduce human accidents, over time experiencing every phase of manufacturing and testing software to control machine movement.

 

YOUR Goals and Experiences: 

  • Gain exposure to controls and automation controllers with assembly and fabrication equipment.

  • Operate the software and components to assemble and transport items during the assembly process.

  • Develop a working knowledge of the equipment control logic programs to control sequencing of machine functions.

  • Control and program Logic from Allen Bradley, Siemens, Niagara Building Automation, Yaskawa Moto man, Cognex and IFM to support process and assembly equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working knowledge of the programming and controls used in Hayward fabrication, assembly, and testing equipment.
  • Under the guidance of our Technical Team develop direct use of online editing of relay logic and Input / Output diagnostics to identify component failure in equipment.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving any issues with sensing or controls.
  • Present improved control sequences of moving components and testing sequences.
  • Create new or modify existing programable logic control programs tools as appropriate.
  • Develop Energy Management Strategies to monitor and track utility consumption.
  • Develop and present Ideas of reducing usage.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/ (rising Senior)
  • You are enthusiastic about automation software and technology
  • Intermediate skill in robotics, automation, and PLC software
  • Exposure to automation and vision sensing
  • Exposure to manufacturing and assembly systems
  • Exposure to control logic
  • Exposure to use and sensor applications
  • Engineering systems
  • Must have transportation to and from the internship
