    SUMMARY:

    Reporting to Hayward Pool Products Product Documentation Lead, the Product Documentation Specialist is responsible to adhere to procedures and work instructions for all Product Information relative to new and existing products, components, systems and sub-systems produced or sourced by Hayward Pool Products. Product Documentation Specialist responsibilities include but, are not limited to accuracy and integrity of Bills of Material (BOM), Item Masters, Change Control and Drawing Revision Control, with strict adherence to all company policies and procedures.  He/she will have responsibility to all subsidiaries both foreign and domestic in terms of Documentation and Change Control to the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems. 

    Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain Change Control Process within the framework of PLM / ERP, supporting change initiators, coordinating changes, reviewing documentation for accuracy and completion, routing of documents, driving approvals, distribution and storage.
    • Initiate Item Masters and Bill of Materials for products, components, systems and sub-systems being released to production and execute changes to existing components, systems and sub-systems in the PLM / Application System (AS400).
    • Support the transfer of product introductions and changes initiated in the PLM to AS400.
    • Provide technical support to Engineering and Manufacturing for the resolution of issues associated with Item Masters and BOM’s for components, systems, subsystems or products.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures and work instructions which define document control, change control and the system tools used, to ensure continuous improvement, efficiency and accuracy to meet customer and business needs.
    • System Administrator for PDM and PLM; responsible for storage, retrieval and release of engineering documentation. Responsibilities include accurate revision control of all engineering documents including but not limited to drawing changes, support documents, literature, etc.
    • Communicate local concerns / suggestions for system and procedure improvements to Product Documentation Lead.

    Qualifications

     QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

    • 3+ years experience in Configuration Management (Identification, Storage, Change Control and Reporting).
    • Experience with PLM / MRP / ERP / PDM systems.
    • Knowledge of SolidWorks, AS400, Arena, BPM and mechanical vaults such as Meridian or PDM professional preferred.
    • Understanding of the product and manufacturing development process.
    • Industry experience in electrical engineering environment.
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and disciplines.
    • Working knowledge of Quality Control/Assurance principles.
    • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio.
    • Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication, prioritization and organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to be a global team member.
    • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects. 

     

    EDUCATION:

    • Military/technical training or equivalent work experience with minimum 3 years of experience.
    • AS or BA a plus.
