    Position Overview:   

    Promotes Kaizen / lean manufacturing concept with all levels of employees through daily activities and assists in building the KPO team on 2nd Shift, 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Monday - Friday.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance for all processes related to and supporting the production area.
    • Interpret and communicate specifications, blueprints and work instructions as required.
    • In conjunction with KPO manager, develops, recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
    • Accountable and drives continuous improvement throughout the team.
    • Ability to work with hand tools. 
    • Manage department performance measures, including visual controls, provides regular progress and failure reports to manager. 
    • Lead and/or support Kaizen Events as related to production. 

    Qualifications

     

    • Excellent computer skills in AS/400, GoogleMail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task with a pro-active approach to issue resolution.
      • Ability to clearly think through the critical tasks that need to be done.
      • Anticipates issues and sets appropriate contingency plans during planning process.
      • Takes corrective action when needed to keep program on track, communicates upward when objectives cannot be met with recovery plan.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education/training and 5 - 7 years of experience,  provided thorough knowledge of a variety of manufacturing activities.
    • Experience or exposure to Lean and Continuous Improvement Initiatives such as Kaizen Events.
    • Strong commitment to employee development with an emphasis on selection and retention.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Valid TN Drivers License
    • First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to successfully obtain within 60 days of employment
