    Hayward is currently seeking a Fabrication Team Leader for our 3rd Shift.  The Team Leader will lead and provide direction to our 3rd shift fabrication hourly team members in the areas of safety, production and quality.  Primary responsibilities include daily shift organization and communication with employees to ensure maximum shift output and efficiencies while following all safety policies and procedures.




    • Assign work to brake press, turret, and fabrication employees.
    • Effectively communicate shift goals and plans related to sheet metal fabrication.
    • Coordinate daily production plan with supervisor / planner buyer.
    • Facilitate production in the Fabrication to the best possible "lean" environment. Participate in three Lean/Kaizen events annually.
    • Conduct employee safety training and ensures LOTO procedures are followed.
    • Insure that all operators perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner, and all PPE is worn at all times.
    • Enter maintenance work orders for press/machine repair as needed.
    • Lead Fabrication employees in stretching exercises 2 times per work schedule to reduce tiring and work related injuries.
    • Supervise employees to ensure timely return from breaks and/or lunch period. Train all Fabrication employees as needed for production schedules.
    • Monitor all fabrication parts to insure quality products.
    • Have a working knowledge of all set­up operations, tooling, gauges, and press operations.
    • Execute nightly lock down procedure to ensure plant is safe and secure and shift end.
    • Notify supervisor and Human Resources Manager of all employee relations issues, complete required HR forms and approve employee time-off requests.
    • Drive fork-lift as needed in absence of material handler.
    • Act as first responder for all first-aid type situations.
    • Demonstrate problem solving skills.
    • Use Lean principles and methods to drive daily improvement.
    • 3rd Shift Team Leader hours are:  Monday - Friday, 10:00pm - 6:00am with overtime as needed/scheduled.
    • $1.50/hr. shift differential






    • Minimum of 3 –5 years of fabrication manufacturing related experience
    • Minimum 3 - 5 years Team Leader/Line Supervisory experience.



    • High School Diploma or GED. 1 ­year certificate from a college or technical school, AS preferred
