    Position Overview:

    Manage the control and movement of materials in and out of the plant. This includes: purchasing of all inventory and non-inventory items, the master schedule, inventory control, production control, warehousing, receiving, shipping, and supervising the employees in all of these areas.



    Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Communicates Production needs to Production departments to allow for future staffing changes.
    • Monitor finished goods and spare parts inventories in all domestic warehouses to insure adequate supply based on forecast.
    • Responsible for inventory control and cycle count programs.
    • Manages Off-Site warehousing for components.
    • Coordinates production of new programs within the facility.
    • Reviews and communicates need for obsolescence disposal.
    • Supervises warehouse department including exports.
    • Must be the central figure driving improvements to all areas between the supply chain and distribution channel.
    • Expected to assess and make improvements within area of responsibilities that create world class materials management.
    • Mentor planning team while driving world class lean initiatives.
    • Participate and promote a safe work environment.
    • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.

    • Must be familiar with lean manufacturing strategies such as Kanban, JIT & Vendor Managed Inventories. Knowledge of Lean Methodology.  Fluency in MRP.
    • Familiar with environmental regulations.
    • Strong computer systems knowledge in inventory and production control.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Computer literate with strong PC skills in Windows, Excel. Word and Power Point.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
    • Ability to align employee career development goals with organizational objectives.


    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's degree  from a four-year college or university; minimum of seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong background in manufacturing industry preferred.  CPM, APICS preferred


    Physical Requirements:

    • Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
    • Frequently required to sit and stand.
    • Frequently required to stand, climb stairs, stoop, kneel; speak and hear.
    • May lift up to 15 lb. frequently and occasionally lifting and/or move up to 25 lb.
    • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance visioin, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
    • Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.  Safety glasses and hearing protection are required while on plant floor at all times.
