    Position Overview:

    The Actuation Business Development Manager takes direct ownership and facilitates sales activities of the organization within targeted Actuation Distribution, Design and OEM Accounts by performing the following duties

    Responsibilities

    Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

     

    • Identify target “Value Added” Actuation Distribution Accounts or “VACs” and develop direct business relationships

     

    • Identify target Engineering Accounts who develop Actuation Specifications and facilitate direct business relationships

     

    • Identify target OEM Accounts with Actuation opportunity and develop direct business relationships

     

    • Develop and implement an annual sales plan, including sales strategy, to maximize return from target accounts and to meet sales quotas established by the Director of Sales 

     

    • Work with local Hayward Sales representatives in managing all Actuation Accounts - VAC, Engineering and OEM

     

    • Train Hayward sales force in the proper sales techniques, applications, markets and product knowledge required to successfully sell actuation and instrumentation

     

    • Evaluate existing selling channels (RSM’s, distributors, reps) and make necessary adjustments and improvements, introducing new selling channels as necessary

     

    • Make recommendations for product improvements, cost reductions, accessories, complimentary product lines, vendors and new products

     

    • Utilize Salesforce.com as CRM for all customer details, sales call activity and weekly business reporting

     

    • Identify requirements for new products including physical parameters, market forecasts and financial analysis

     

    • Develop and coordinate advertising and promotion programs with the corporate advertising department

     

    • Evaluate competitive products and prepare feature and benefit comparisons and selling strategies for the sales force

     

    • Advise sales representatives and distributors concerning sales, advertising techniques and campaigns

     

    • Formulate sales plans which incorporate marketing strategy with regard to target market segment within a specific geographic area

     

    • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company

     

    • Keep the organization fully informed of competitor activities in the region

     

    • Represent Hayward at trade shows and trade association meetings to promote the Company and its products

     

    • Coordinate as liaison between customer service department, technical service, engineering and other departments as appropriate to maximize superior sales and service performance

     

    • Assist Customer Service in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive list and profile of key accounts and contacts (direct and indirect) in a computerized database

     

    • Perform other business-related duties as assigned by Director of Sales. 

    Qualifications

    A minimum of ten years related sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Personal computer skills and mechanical capability is essential.  Must also possess a valid driver license and be willing and able to drive long distances and travel by plane. 

     

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
