Manages and directs all activities and employees in the tool room for support of the injection molding and maintaining mold conditions to include preventive maintenance and repairs. Provides technical assistance to all other manufacturing departments as necessary. Manages the 3-shift, 24-hour molding machine operation. Ensures quality parts are molded to established specifications following safety procedures. Supplies assembly and other Hayward facilities with molded components so that orders may be shipped to customers on time.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manages all subordinate supervisors directly and approximately 35 employees indirectly in molding and all employees in the tooling department.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these shifts. Also directly supervises one other exempt position – molding technician. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and at least 7 years related experience/and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
