Internship Description:

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be responsible for working on Automation Projects and VAVE projects for Hayward Rhode Island’s assembly operations.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Assisting Manufacturing Engineers with reviewing warranty info and implementing VAVE projects.

The Intern will also assist with the research and development of Automation Projects.

 

 

 

Goals and Learning Experiences:

Throughout this internship, the candidate will be immersed into a professional manufacturing engineering organization, over time experiencing every phase of the production process from new product introduction through the total life cycle of a product. The candidate will be exposed to engineering problem solving techniques used in the industry environment. The students’ responsibilities shall increase as he/she progresses through the college curriculum. This will include but is not limited to:

 

  • Setting up new assembly lines and assembly cells
  • Assist in the procurement of new machines and tooling
  • Research automation concepts and assist with the development of part design changes
  • Troubleshoot machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing environment
  • Assist with VA/VE projects to help eliminate warranty issues by performing validation testing and collecting data. 

 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree; mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs
  • Solid Works experience
  • Familiarity with common mobile devices
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must have transportation to and from internship
