Manages and directs all activities and employees in the tool room for support of the injection molding and maintaining mold conditions to include preventive maintenance and repairs. Provides technical assistance to all other manufacturing departments as necessary.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Directly supervises all hourly employees in the Tooling Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, prioritizing workload and assigning and directing workforce accordingly; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must be a strong team player who works well in a team-based environment, both in Clemmons and across Hayward with other tooling personnel.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, plus a minimum of five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Actively participates in technical knowledge building through continuing education. Keeps well informed of technological advances in mold design and mold building and repair. May belong to one or more work related technical organizations.
