Working with the Robotics/Automation Engineer the intern will be given a project to design, develop and integrate robots and/or other automation equipment into the factory's existing and new production lines.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the design, development, procurement, programming and integration of automated manufacturing equipment including stationary robots, mobile robots, optical inspection systems, laser engraving and related products.

 

  • Works closely with manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, test engineering, design engineering, IT, and production personnel to develop safe, ergonomic, and reliable robotic platforms.

 

  • Responsible for researching and creation of proposals to identify costs, benefits and justifications.

 

  • Generates documentation including user's guides, reference manuals, operating instructions, and repair guides.

 

  • Responsible for maintaining, repairing or modifying any existing automated production equipment as required, including PLC's or other microprocessor based controllers.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  

  • The intern must be working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. (Junior or Senior)

 

  • Knowledge of network communications and other various communications protocols, including Wi-Fi.

 

  • The intern must have complete knowledge of standard computer applications including all Microsoft applications as well as CAD applications, preferably SolidWorks.

 

  • Must have strong mechanical skills and be knowledgeable and comfortable using typical power tools found in most mechanical shops.

 

  • Familiarity with Linux and Python programming required.
