Assembles products in cellular manufacturing stations including filters, pumps, lights, chlorinators, etc. Completed products are boxed and labeled for transfer to the warehouse.
Assemblers are cross functional, able to work multiple positions in a cell and able to work in multiple different cells. Work is more complex and detailed. Products may be heavier, such that the operator may handle 35-60 lb. products on a repetitive basis. Assemblers must demonstrate a consistent, production efficiency on all job assignments.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); zero to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The physical demands described here must be met in order for an employee to perform the essential functions of the job. The employee must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per shift. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20-25 lbs. at least once an hour. Must be able to bend and stoop several times per hour in order to place finished goods on pallets for storage or shipment. Must be able to continuously use hands and fingers in order to handle small objects, tools or controls and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, depth perception and adjusting focus.
While performing this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, dust and airborne particles. The noise level is moderate to noisy. Safety glasses are required when on the plant floor.
