Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the HRIS & Benefits Manager serves as a strategic human resources leader responsible for maintaining the integrity of Hayward’s Ceridian Dayforce HRIS database. Acts as the lead for Dayforce HRIS database to plan, configure, test and implement changes and enhancements to the system as needed in support of our benefit and compensation programs.  Ensures our HR systems, Benefits and Compensation plans are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and have an impact on the long and short term performance of the organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains integrity of the Ceridian Dayforce HRIS database and troubleshoots, analyzes, detects, identifies and corrects technical problems and deficiencies. Coordinates, implements and appropriately communicates system upgrades as needed.  Leads the development and management of HRIS systems to enhance HR reporting/analytics capabilities.
  • Trains and assists users in the utilization and operation of HRIS, with a focus on ensuring the HR team is knowledgeable of all systems practices. Works closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accuracy of systems data.
  • Provides strategic and tactical leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of Hayward’s Total Rewards programs including health, welfare, wellness, retirement, compensation, incentives, and other rewards and perquisites.
  • Responsible for the efficient administration of benefit and compensation plans to ensure customer focused results, including managing the relationships with outside benefits and compensation providers/consultants
  • Ensures competitive and cost effective benefits and compensation programs through market analysis and RFP process as deemed necessary. Regularly monitors costs in conjunction with VP, HR as needed.
  • Identifies, writes and implements Human Resources policies and guidelines in conjunction with the VP, HR.
  • Ensures managers and employees are informed of HR related Company objectives, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all human resource files and records are maintained and preserved in accordance with established company policies and state and federal regulations 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance and timely mandatory reporting related to the Affordable Care Act and EEO-1 Reporting. Maintains current knowledge of other related government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations; fulfills compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for managing company programs such as Tuition Reimbursement, Leaves of Absences (e.g., disability, FMLA, personal, etc.), in conjunction with VP, HR and Plant HR Managers. Ensure policies and processes are kept current, competitive and compliant.
  • Participate as needed on projects related to mergers and acquisitions to include thorough analysis of employee benefit and compensation designs, integration plans and implementation of transactional changes.
  • Provides supervision of HR/Benefits Specialist and training for employees and HR colleagues on changes in HR systems, Benefits and/or other processes.
  • Partners with Hayward’s benefits broker and other vendors to draft written communication and enrollment materials, prepares for and conducts benefits conference calls with Plant HR teams, revises benefit summaries and benefit orientation documents, ensures distribution and receipt of documents and process changes with vendors.
  • Provides general Human Resource support as needed & resolves employee requests, complaints and issues courteously and promptly

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of HRIS database systems and report writing tools (previous experience with Ceridian Dayforce a strong plus).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR systems and benefits programs (Health, 401K, Wellness, etc.). Experience working with external vendors.
  • PHR, SPHR, CCP, CBP certification a plus (SHRM-CP?, SHRM-SCP?).
  • Extensive knowledge of benefit programs
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource policies and procedures, federal/state laws and regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree (Masters preferred); 5+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in HR systems, benefits and compensation
