Responsibilities

Are you in the Valve, PVF, Pump, or Flow Measurement industry working as a Product Engineer?

Are you looking to engage in the development of new products or redesign existing products at a Senior Engineering level?

 

We are looking for a strong product design engineer who enjoys leading the way from concept to production. In this hands on technical role, you will manage product development projects at various stages of the design cycle to include:

  • Work with Product Manager to develop a project business plan, create capital requests for new products and ensure that final designs meet all project deliverables.
  • Estimate product and project (i.e. Engineering labor) costs, as well as capital costs for assigned projects.
  • Developing and conduction qualification and performance testing.
  • Lead and participates on multi-functional design/development teams.
  • Interface with suppliers for assigned projects to determine feasibility of proposed manufacturing methods, as well as to render “make/buy” decisions.
  • Works with manufacturing or suppliers to resolve design related manufacturing issues.
  • Develop all new part numbers, bills of material, component and assembly models and drawings for assigned projects.
  • Interface with Technical Service and Sales to provide technical support to resolve customer issues.
  • Occasionally travels to the field to provide technical training or support to Sales and customers

Qualifications

To land this job you must have a proven track record developing new products and experience leading cross-functional product development projects to ensuring design integrity for products, components, systems and sub-systems in production. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can execute mulitpe projects/responsibilies simultaneously while maintaining strong cross functional relationships. They will bring previous experience designing for manufacturability as well as the proficient usage of the analysis programs like AutoCad, ProE, SoildWorks, FEA and CFD. 

 

Applicants please ensure you possess: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year university.
  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Design Engineering, Product Engineering, or New Product Development.
  • Valve, PVF, pump, or flow measurement industry experience

  • Design of electronic, electro-mechanical, or sensing devices
  • Injection molding and/or machine shop environment
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other Phase/Gate development
