The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all facets of Financial Accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, internal and external financial reporting including filings, internal controls, and policy development and implementation. The Corporate Controller will also support all key accounting financial operations. Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will interface with all members of the company’s leadership team and with all company functional areas. He or she will be energized by the opportunity to understand the overall business and help the company achieve broader strategic business objectives.


  • Manage process and systems to achieve an effective environment of financial controls that is supportive of the overall business.
  • Design, communicate and manage financial reporting processes at Hayward and all its subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for the monthly consolidation of domestic and international financial results for all Business Units and Corporate functions.
  • Review and preparation of all domestic tax filings. Interaction with International Controllers on local company tax issues.  Development of worldwide tax strategies.
  • Close interaction with Business Units and Treasury on financial reporting, accounting and monthly closing activities. Ensure compliance to standard accounting policies and procedures and implementation and maintenance of standardized chart of accounts.
  • Participate in preparation of the quarterly earnings releases and investor-facing calls.
  • Develop, maintain and enforce technical accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Lead analysis of technical accounting issues: Provide well-supported and documented interpretation of GAAP literature, identify relevant changes in accounting guidance, and monitor processes for compliance with accounting literature.
  • Preparation of all external reporting and filings, including SEC reporting and reporting to other regulatory authorities.
  • Oversee Payroll Processes for all Domestic Businesses.
  • Responsible for coordinating the annual audited financial statements with external auditors and providing all supporting documentation for the timely issuance of these statements.
  • Directs the internal audit function.
  • In conjunction with Treasury, provides financial institutions with required financial statements for loan covenant purposes.
  • Responsible for determining the adequacy of the financial reporting system and to recommend system changes when required.
  • Reviews and analyzes acquisition financial performance and makes recommendations to CFO.
  • Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Implements appropriate internal controls.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Director of Internal Audit, Financial and Tax Reporting Manager, Assistant Controller, Payroll Manager and Hyperion Administrator report directly to this position. International and Plant Controllers also report into this position for all US GAAP Compliance.


  • Proven experience in dealing effectively with international subsidiaries in multinational corporate environment.
  • Strong financial systems background.
  • SEC filing background required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP required, with expertise in technical accounting and internal controls.
  • Must be a working manager, capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in transitioning companies from private to public required
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve problems
  • A proven track record of identifying and developing talented team members
  • Exceptional communication skills.



Education and/or Experience:


CPA required and 10-15 years of experience in multi-national, multi-divisional consumer products and/or manufacturing companies.
