Responsibilities

Position assembles components to produce production assemblies.  Performs assembly work of moderate complexity. Assembly procedures may involve adjusting, trimming and fitting parts to close tolerances.  Requires manual dexterity and the ability to work with simple hand tools.  May work from samples or visual aids, and receives detailed instructions as to exact procedures to be followed.  Work is repetitive, which allows for the development of some habit patterns.

  • Assembles various pool support products.
  • May test some of the assembled products.
  • Makes up cartons, seals and marks, and inserts protective packing material.
  • Must meet efficiency rates.
  • Quality specifications must be met.
  • Employee must work within safety guidelines.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sence understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.   Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.  Good hand eye coordination is a necessary skill.

 

Education and Experience:

Less than High school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
