This Intern position will support manufacturing process engineering in injection molding and blow molding as assigned.  Working closely with a mentor engineer and cross-functionally with a wide variety of disciplines, he/she will be exposed to all areas of manufacturing including product design and material specification, prototyping, tooling, injection molding, blow molding, secondary operations, decorating operations, assembly operations and finished good pack-out.

 

 

Responsibilities

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new processes, evaluate existing processes, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct process design of experiments and evaluate resulting data
  • Design prototype injection molding tooling for 3D printing
  • At the conclusion of the internship create a presentation outlining accomplishments and present it to the Operations Management Team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Rising Jr. or Sr. working toward a Plastics Engineering Degree
  • Intermediate understanding of thermoplastics, injection molding, and blow molding
  • Intermediate knowledge of plastics engineering tools like mold filling simulation and plastic part design
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Basic Knowledge of solid modeling software systems preferably SolidWorks
  • Problem solving ability
  • Computer literacy in the use of presentation and program management software
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
  • Currently Enrolled at a 4 year institution
